Vision

The Canadian Society of Palliative Care Physicians will promote access to high quality palliative care for all Canadians, through advocacy, partnerships, research, and physician education.

Key Messages

1. We call for a pan-Canadian strategy to be driven by a national secretariat drawn from government, healthcare professionals, patient representatives, and community leaders.
2. We endorse the ongoing assessment and improvement of Canadian palliative care resources through sustained federal and provincial funding to meet the growing palliative care needs of all Canadians.
3. We advocate for increased education in palliative care skills at both the undergraduate and postgraduate medical education levels, as well as for physicians already in practice.
4. We support capacity-building and collaboration among all healthcare professionals to enhance and promote a team-based approach to palliative care.
